[Media] Invitation to the EquityBD protest event on IMF's anti-people advice to the government, tomorrow (6 May 2024) 10.30 AM at National Press Club, Dhaka

Dear Friends in Media,

Greetings from Equity & Justice Working Group, Bangladesh (EquityBD).

You are well informed that the IMF, as a condition of releasing loan funds,
advised Bangladesh to adjust the subsidies, which sometimes save lives, for
debt repayment. We think this will result in increasing poverty through
inflation and increased prices of public services like electricity.

We are going to protest this in favor of the people of Bangladesh. We have
arranged a protest rally and brief gathering in front of the National Press
Club, Dhaka tomorrow, 6th May 2024, at 10.30 AM.

We cordially invite you to assign one of your reporters along with a photo
journalist to cover the issue for the sake of people’s interest.

The title of our program is:

*Resist Anti-People IMF Advice made on Govt’s infirm financial management*
*Control Inflation. Save Lives. Rationalise Subsidy*
